There’s nothing quite like attending an auto show where dozens of automakers, including Ford, are showing off their latest vehicles. The 2018 Seattle International Auto Show is one such show. It runs from November 9th through the 12th at the CenturyLink Field Event Center. Tickets cost $16 for adults, $14 for seniors and military personnel, and kids 12 and under get in for free.
Auto show attendees have the chance to test drive the all-new 2019 Ford Ranger. Drivers will experience the true performance, technology, efficiency, and comfort of the midsize truck before it arrives at dealerships. As an added bonus, each test driver will have the chance to win their very own Ford Ranger!
The 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor will be in attendance as well. Its aggressive styling will stand above the rest and make it easily visible, even in crowds. Attendees won’t want to miss seeing this model in person!
In addition to two of the toughest trucks in the industry, Ford will show off its performance simulator. The ride allows attendees to test their driving skills on a virtual road course. The simulator provides all the thrill and action of a world-class performance car right in the center of the auto show!
Here at Lakewood Ford, we hope to see you at the auto show.

Following up on Ford’s announcement earlier this year that it will not be investing in new generations of its Fusion sedan (a Ford staple since model year 2006), it has been rumored that a brand new line of sport wagon could be designed bearing the Fusion name.
Since “sport wagon” sounds quite a bit like another word for “crossover”, the new Fusion would be right in line with the manufacturer’s previously announced decision to rebalance its North American portfolio toward larger vehicles—mainly trucks, SUVs, and commercial vehicles—during the next two years. By 2020, Ford expects its car offerings in North America to include only the Mustang and Focus Crossover.
According to sources close to Ford’s product planning, the sport wagon Fusion will be a direct competitor of the Subaru Outback as a “high-roofed hatchback built on the same mechanical underpinnings.” It is the automaker’s intention to pursue new “’white space’ vehicle silhouettes that combine the best attributes of cars and utilities, such as higher ride height, space, and versatility.”
For the moment, Ford fans will have to be patient. It’s unlikely that we’ll get a look at the refreshed Fusion sport wagon for quite some time. But when a first look at the model is revealed, you can rest assured that Lakewood Ford will be ready to share that information.

If you love driving and traveling, few things are better than combining the two for a road trip. If you’re new to embarking on extended drives, though, we’ve got your back. Follow these simple summer road trip tips and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime.
Get your car in shape
If your car isn’t up to it, a road trip just won’t work. Before you set off, perform some routine maintenance on your vehicle to make sure it will be able to endure the extra stress of a long drive. You should do the following before setting out:
- Check tire pressure and alignment
- Make sure you have a spare tire
- Replace wiper blades
- Check on or replace your battery
- Change oil
Keep things clean
When you’re on the road for a long time, clutter tends to accumulate rather quickly. Clean your car before you leave, and then make a habit of routinely clearing your ride of trash and other things you don’t need so your space stays as comfortable and organized as possible.
Make a plan, but stay flexible
Of course, you can’t take a road trip without somewhere to drive to. It’s a good idea to plan out where you’re heading and where you’ll stop along the way, but we recommend staying open to last-minute changes if you discover something cool you want to explore.
If you require a new vehicle before heading out on this incredible road trip, then check out our collection of cars, trucks, and SUVs here at Lakewood Ford.
Summer is the season of outdoor fests and fairs in the lovely state of Washington. One of our favorites here at Lakewood Ford is the Truckaroo Food Truck Festival in Tacoma.
Taking place on Saturday, June 16th, the Truckaroo Food Truck Festival is the perfect place for a first date, a family outing, or just for checking in with a few of your friends. Truckaroo, put on by the Washington State Food Truck Association, aims to celebrate the uniqueness of Washington street food; if you make it out to the event, you can count on sampling the best of the best in local dishes made using locally-sourced ingredients.
Besides deliciously diverse foods, the Truckaroo Food Truck Festival will also feature a host of local buskers for entertainment. There will also be ample beverages (we’re talking craft beers, cocktails, lemonade, – you name it,) to choose from throughout the event.
Plus, if volunteer to help out at the Truckaroo Food Truck Festival, and you will eat for free all day long.
A stated goal of the Truckaroo Food Truck Festival is to support local Tacoma businesses – an initiative all of us here at Lakewood Ford can get behind.
The Truckaroo Food Truck Festival begins at 11:00 AM and closes up shop at 4:00 PM. Get there on time and stay for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Of course, to get there on time, you can always obtain a new vehicle from Lakewood Ford.
Spring has arrived, with summer just around the corner. Over the winter months, cars typically get dirty, and unnecessary items accumulate throughout the interior. Before the hotter weather hits, you should take some time to spring clean your car and get it looking good. Here are some helpful tips on how to spring clean your Ford.
- Wash the exterior: Whether it be dirty from salt, pollen, or general driving, you should take the time to wash down your car’s exterior using car-specific cleaning supplies. Take the extra time to clean the windows to a streak-free shine.
- Clean the interior: If you haven’t cleaned the floor mats since the winter, you should take the time to do so and get any salt stains out. If you want to deep clean the interior, you can use a carpet-cleaning machine on both the floor and seat upholstery. You should also wipe down the dashboard, center stack, and steering wheel.
- Remove unnecessary items from the cabin: With the warm weather, you no longer need to have your ice scraper/snow brush, winter gloves, and miscellaneous winter car supplies on hand. Store them away for the warmer months and remove the trash that has accumulated on the floor and in the nooks and crannies of your car.
- Check tire pressure, tire treads, and windshield wiper blades: Check your tire pressure to make sure your tires are appropriately inflated, and check your tires’ treads to make sure they’re not too worn down. If you use winter tires, you will definitely want to make sure that you swap them out for all-season or summer tires before it gets too hot out. You will also want to check your windshield wiper blades, making sure they’re not cracked and that they still sit flush with the windshield. Snow and ice can damage them and cause them to streak when in use.
If the service you require for your vehicle is more extensive, feel free to bring it into our team of technicians at Lakewood Ford.
Automotive manufacturers offer great perks when it comes to warranties on new vehicles. At Lakewood Ford, we believe in offering our customers peace of mind long after the manufacturer’s warranty has expired. The Lakewood for Life guarantee ensures that drivers can enjoy their time behind the wheel without any unexpected surprises.
The Lakewood for Life guarantee coverage begins immediately and lasts as long as you drive the vehicle. Not only does the Lakewood for Life guarantee cover new cars, but it also applies to qualifying pre-owned vehicles as well. Most models 2011 and newer with under 100,000 miles are covered.
The dealer-provided coverage applies to the engine and transmission as long as you own the vehicle. Keeping up with routine maintenance as outlined in the owner’s manual could keep your vehicle on the road for a decade or more! The Lakewood for Life guarantee’s coverage is a great benefit that few other dealerships are willing to match.
Coverage extends to all internally lubricated parts of an engine. That means major components, such as the camshaft, connecting rods, and pistons, are all covered in the event they need to be repaired or replaced. Internally lubricated parts in the transmission, including the main shaft and torque converter, are covered as well.
At Lakewood Ford, we go the extra mile to provide our customers with peace of mind.
Spring is finally here, which means it’s time to take a week off work and head somewhere fun. While most people envision the beaches of Florida for spring break, the Pacific Northwest is the perfect place for spring break. Here are our recommendations for spring break road trips near Lakewood. All are within 100 miles of Lakewood Ford.
Mount Rainier National Park
Southwest of Lakewood is Mount Rainier National Park, named after the beautiful Mount Rainier, which reaches 14,410 feet above sea level. Take some time exploring the mountains with a camping or hiking trip or enjoy recreation like sledding or snowshoe walks.
Instead of heading southeast, go northeast for Snoqualmie Falls, one of the most popular nature attractions in the state of Washington. Take the family on a hike to spy this beautiful 270-foot waterfall, and then grab a delicious meal at the local lodge.
Olympic National Forest
Explore the Pacific Northwest the right way with a trip to the Olympic National Forest, which contains our country’s only rainforest (Hoh). There are plenty of opportunities for hiking to explore the deep canyons and giant mountains, and if you travel to the other side, you’ll even catch sight of the Pacific.
If you need a vehicle to reach your spring break destination, then Lakewood Ford is ready to help you out.
